Any good method is not breed-specific

Monster Rancher Metropolis: Monster Rancher 2 Archive (PSOne): Raising/Training Methods: Any good method is not breed-specific

in recent days, i have read a number of new methods which are posted as being designed to raise a specific breed of monster - say, plants, phoenixes or hares. it is my position that any method which is successful on one breed will be successful with every other. any method which is not successful with all breeds is fatally flawed, and should be abandoned even for raising the breed on which it seems to work.

why do i say this? well, i was here when the first method, the wildcard method, was posted. i have watched method after method, good and bad, be created, posted, and critiqued. in the end, a successful method will concentrate on matters which apply to all breeds.
1] feeding - tabs? if not, why not?
2] drills - ld or hd?
3] rest - when and how often? nuts oil?
4] stress - manage thru rest and battling or mint leaves? when and how often?
5] battles - official? unofficial?
6] errantry - when? which?
7] money - how much to start with, how much to spend?

but what about the fact that different breeds excel at different things? easy. train the monster in the stats it wants to be trained in. force some skill and life; otherwise get the monster what it deserves on the int/pow axis, and decide between def and spd as your protective aspect.

once i finally hit upon a method which took into account all the above common factors, i found that any monster was improved by contact with it. i thought hoppers sucked, yet i found myself raising a champion hopper. same with bakus, apes, etc.

so what is up with the run of threads these days implying that a different method is needed for different breeds?

I agree torey!

Patience and attention to detail in use of the FAQ data are all that's needed to make a champion out of any breed. If you are having troubles, that means you've got some studying/practicing to do!

-There are no bad monsters, only bad methods!
